Why Is My Computer Running?

The other day I was sitting watching TV and I heard the harddrive on my computer grinding away. I checked to see what was going on and could find nothing.
A few minuets later I heard my computer running again. I ran spybot and Ad-aware spyware removal programs andthey found a few cookies but that was about it.
I did a quick search and came across Spyware Bot and tried there free scan.
Wow, It found 97 files and programs that should not be there. I purchased the program and cleaned my computer.
I must say It is now running MUCH faster and smoother. This is one product I can highly recommend.
